On your ten-minute-walk to the city center you will pass the Benedict convent Nonnberg (which is well known from the movie "The Sound of Music") and the station of the cable railway to the fortress, with which you can reach the landmark of Salzburg - the fortress Hohensalzburg - in a very restful way. Y ou also will have a marvellous view on your way to downtown.
If you rather prefer to escape from the busy city, we would recommend one of the beautiful walks to the nearby recreation areas "Leopoldskron" and "Donnenberg Park" . And if the weather is really hot during the summer months, you should go for a swim in the open-air-bath Leopoldskron
