The guesthouse Steinerhof is managed by the family Haslauer since 1986, situated in the midst of a most idyllic landscape on the periphery of the city of salzburg. The guesthouse is furnished in a charming, traditional way and is located a short way from the main road in a quiet surrounding with a view of the Untersberg. The Steinerhof is set in a flower-garden with a natural fish-pond. In the vicinity of the house, there is a remarkable enclosure with red deer's. For your car the parking in front of the house is free of charge.

When your stay exceeds three days, a free pick up service from the Salzburger airport or the Salzburger railway-station is available.


The center of the city can be reached by car or by public-bus in about five minutes. The bus station is near the guesthouse.

Our comfortable-doublebedrooms are furnished with exquisite wooden-furniture, on request with an additional-bed. They include shower, toilet, SAT-TV, hair-drier, radio-alarm-clock and balcony with most rooms.

Whether you are looking for walking, mountaineering, riding, swimming, cycling, sightseeing, or simply for relaxation. There is something on offer for everyone.
Be it the Salzburger fortress with its dungeons, the salt mine in Hallein, the "Eisriesenwelt" (ice-caves) in Werfen, the thermal spa in Berchtesgaden, the "Reiterhof", the "sound of music tour" by Panorama-Tours (which offers a collection service from our guesthouse), or you simply wish to take in the wonderful sights of the city salzburg and its surrounding….. or enjoy the splendour of Salzburg by night.

In summer as in winter the 2000m high summit of the Untersberg mountain maybe reached by cable-car. Being an ideal location for trekking as well as skiing.

In close vicinity of our guesthouse there are restaurants offering Austrian and Italian specialities.

For a special evening we can recommend a visit to the Casino in the castle of Klessheim. Which is located in unique surroundings.

At the local castle Leopoldskron with its pond, also offers an open-air swimming pool and crazy-golf. The close laying 1km long racetrack, set in local woodland and can be used without charge.

Cyclist may enjoy well established biking-routes around and through Salzburg, with the possibility to borrow bicycles from us, against a small charge.


The "Mirabellgarten", the zoo of "Hellbrunn" with its gardens are among many remarkable sights of the city of Salzburg.

For the winter sportsman in the land of Salzburg there is a large offer of prepared cross-country ski runs and ski-pistes. At the municipal ice-stadium it is possible to borrow skates and then you can skate to modern music.
