  HOTEL INFORMATION

Pontac Manor is situated in a quiet side street, just off the Main Road in the centre of Paarl, within walking distance of a number of interesting shops (art gallery, antique shops, jewellery design studio, interior design studio, gift shops, etc.), restaurants and coffee shops, banks, the tourist information centre and varios tourist attractions.

Paarl is in fact the perfect base from which to explore the Cape Winelands and the rest of the Western Cape. Various well-known wine estates are located in Paarl and on the slopes of Paarl Mountain. It is only approximately 20 minutes' drive to either of the other well-known winelands towns of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

The famous Paarl Golf Club on Boschenmeer Estate and the Pearl Valley Jack Nicklaus Signature Course are approx 10 minutes drive awayaway and there are more than 30 fine golf courses within a one hour radius of Paarl.

It takes only 35 -40 minutes to reach Cape Town and Cape Town International Airport, thanks to the excellent network of highway connections and easy accessibility of Paarl with relation to the N1 and other motorway routes..

Welcome to Pontac Manor Hotel & Restaurant, a celebrated establishment in the historic town of Paarl, at the heart of the Cape Winelands, close to Cape Town.
Surrounded by majestic oak trees and manicured gardens, the hotel has been restored to its former Victorian elegance and welcomes guests from around the globe.
Original historic features in architecture and furnishing reflect an era of gracious living. Here, in a luxurious and yet homely atmosphere, first-class service and modern convenience blend with traditional style and genteel hospitality.

The award-winning "Restaurant at Pontac" is located in the beautifully restored old barn of this historic estate. The setting on the slopes of Paarl Rock is exceptional. Patrons dine al fresco on a white-washed patio with a unique view and the relaxing burble of the Koi pond, or inside in a restaurant decorated with quirky coloured African wall hangings and ceiling drapes. Bricked-in chicken nests, antique window frames with deep-set ledges and original stone fireplaces add to the ambience, which is delightfully informal with the accent on country hospitality, offset by elegant tableware and professional service.
The fine art of gastronomy as practised at Pontac Manor is rooted in classic cuisine, with the culinary range amplified and enhanced by local influences and flavours, particularly apparent in the uniquely creative flavour combinations. The menu includes the Pontac Classics and an ever-changing range of seasonal specialities: for those who enjoy "sampling" various items on the menu are available in full and half portions.
The team of culinary experts responsible for all things edible at Pontac Manor is headed by executive chef, Abe Conradie, who trained locally and in a Michelin Star restaurant in Germany. Since opening in January 2000, the restaurant has rapidly gained acclaim and ranks amongst the top 100 in the country. (WINE magazine)
Special emphasis is placed upon pairing wine and food to intensify all pleasures of the palate. A carefully selected wine list features local and regionalwines - well-loved classics, cheeky newcomers and some daringly quirky innovations with emphasis on paarl Valley vintages. See seperate section on PONTAC MANOR WINES "Caberne Sauvignon 2003" and "Sauvignon Blanc 2005".
