  HOTEL INFORMATION

SAXON has witnessed history within its walls as it became home to Nelson Mandela after he was released from prison. It was during this time that South Africa's former President used the serene setting of SAXON to edit his autobiography "Long walk to Freedom

DIRECTIONS FROM JOHANNESBURG INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT TO THE SAXON.

1. As you leave Johannesburg International airport, keep on the far RIGHT HAND SIDE of the main exit carriageway.
2. Follow the overhead sign marked R24 - JOHANNESBURG
3. You will merge with the N12 highway, traveling west.
4. Approaching the N12/N3 interchange, follow the overhead sign marked N3 (N1) PRETORIA. DO NOT TAKE THE SIGN MARKED JOHANNESBURG 5. You will now be traveling NORTH along the N3 highway.

AT THIS POINT, YOU CAN CHOOSE BETWEEN 2 ROUTES

Route option 1 - MOST DIRECT ROUTE
1. Take the first offramp marked LINKSFIELD RD.
2. Turn RIGHT at the traffic lights into LINKSFIELD RD.
3. At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn RIGHT into CLUB ROAD.
4. At the 1st set of traffic lights, cross over GEORGE ROAD. Follow CLUB ROAD where the name will change to SWEMMER RD, then AVON RD, then NORTHFIELF then ATHOL, then WOODYATT, then PRETORIA and finally GLENHOVE.
5. GLENHOVE RD will cross over the M1 highway. After crossing the highway, you will pass one set of traffic lights.
6. At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn RIGHT into OXFORD ROAD.
7. Travelling along OXFORD RAOD you will pass through the suburb of Rosebank.
8. OXFORD ROAD will become RIVONIA ROAD as you approach the Sandton area. Keep on the LEFT HAND SIDE OF RIVONIA ROAD.
9. At the main intersection of RIVONIA ROAD and SANDTON DRIVE, you will see a large electronic signboard and the SANDTON CITY SHOPPING MALL. Turn LEFT at the traffic lights, into SANDTON DRIVE.

10. Keep on the LEFT HAND SIDE of SANDTON DRIVE. At the 2nd set of traffic lights, turn LEFT into COMARTIE DRIVE.
11. At the T-JUNCTION, turn RIGHT into SAXON ROAD.
12. The Saxon is clearly marked on the LEFT HAND SIDE of SAXON ROAD


 
  ACCOMMODATION

Saxon boasts twenty four suites of various sizes. All suites incorporate a strong element of African art, latticed shutters covering large bay windows, looking onto the tranquil gardens or pool area. Each suite features large screen televisions, VCR and DVD player with surround sound system. Workstations fitted with multi telephone, fax and ISDN lines, provide each guest an incomparable experience in business oriented hospitality. The four presidential suites each feature a separate lounge and dining area. The spectacular Mandela and Mbeki platinum suites are furnished to cater for the most discerning traveller.

 
  DINNING

The ambience of the dining room offers a "homey" atmosphere, boasting an exclusive and unique wine display. A brigade of world class chefs ensures personalised cuisine, catering for our well traveled guests.

The cocktail bar leads off the expansive pool terrace, koi pond and outdoor heated pool.

In the dining library, watercolours of ancient African weaponry share space with an eclectic collection of reading material. This homely room is used for either private dining or boardroom style conferencing.

Two further boardrooms are available for executive conferencing for up to thirty delegates. The twenty-six seater auditorium is equipped with the latest technology in projection and communication, ensuring quality presentations in luxury surrounds.
