The town can be reached from Cape Town by travelling on the N1 and taking the Prince Albert turn-off 84km from Laingsburg.
If you are travelling from Johannesburg on the N1 towards Cape Town, the turn-off is 115km from Beaufort West.
Prince Albert can also be reached from Oudtshoorn via the Swartberg pass or Meiringspoort.
