  HOTEL INFORMATION

The Protea Hotel Wilderness Resort Hotel lies just off the N2 National Road, between George and Knysna in the Garden Route.

Only 27 kms from George Airport, 30 minutes` drive to Knysna, 65 kms from Mossel Bay and approximately four hours` drive from Cape Town.
Appreciated for its beautiful indigenous forests, striking lagoons and golden beaches that continue into the horizon, the Garden route has gained a reputations as South Africa's "Eden".

Protea Hotel Wilderness Resort is strategically located in the heart of the Garden Route, close to most tourist attractions and towns in the area.

The Garden Route has a Mediterranean maritime climate, with moderately hot summers and mild to chilly winters. The temperate weather falls between to climatic regions of summer and winter rainfall so, as it rains mostly at night, the area is kept perenially green.

The Outeniqua Ladies Bar is a cosy pub for that lazy sundowner and friendly conversation, while the Loerie Restaurant serves delicious buffet breakfasts and tempting dinners.

The restaurant offers an outstanding Seafood Buffet each Friday night and a traditional Sunday Carvery, with an abundance of oysters, on Sunday afternoons.

Play outdoor chess, visit the Kingfisher Trail or the Tsitsikamma forest, the famous Cango Caves, ostrich and crocodile farms, or cruise along the Knysna lagoon with champagne and fresh oysters.

For more adventurous travellers, the area offers a variety of outdoor activities including paragliding and parasailing off Dolphin's Point, kloofing, abseiling and canoeing.
